John Cook

New study finds two factors influential in changing the minds of climate skeptics: self-affirmation (more on this at a later date) and, wait for it... graphs!

Chris Mooney reports on it and here's the preprint of the paper.

I always knew http://sks.to/graphics was an important resource and had anecdotal evidence of it's effectiveness, seeing SkS graphs pop up all over the place. Now we have empirical data proving graphs are crucial in climate communication. My graph fixation is not just because I'm an Excel geek - apparently, it was keen communication instinct! :-)
