I'm going to start with the bad news first. I had a relatively minor medical issue come up recently, and as a result I've mostly been in bed for a few days. Tomorrow I should have a minor surgery, and after a few days, everything should be back to normal.
The good news if far better than the bad news is bad. Some time back my old laptop died, and as a result, I lost access to a lot of work and data from the last decade. The good news is I've finally managed to recover almost everything from that laptop's harddrive. A little bit was lost for good due to harddrive faults, but as far as I can tell, that didn't affect anything I'd care about.
What this means is I once again have access to a great deal of data, code and documents I've collected and/or created while following the global warming debate. I'm not going to go into all of what I've recovered, and there is a lot for me to work through, but the short version is I can now work on a number of things I had to give up on in the past.
There are two special highlights to this. First, I had started an eBook back before this harddrive crashed, and I'm hoping to be able to pick up work on that. It's been too long since I wrote one. Second, my media collection is back. Music, movies and television shows for days.
Anyway, for the next couple months, expect more posts on substantial matters rather than random observations as I begin revisiting old topics. And if there's any subject I've discussed in the past you'd like to hear more about, feel free to let me know. Odds are I'll have more to discuss about it.
In the meantime, relax and be at peace. Life is good.
