I have to be honest, I don't know what this holiday is celebrating. I don't even know what countries are celebrating it today. I gather different countries have different Thanksgiving Days, or some such? It all seems very confusing, and while I'm sure a little time with Google could answer any questions, I don't really want to find out.
I still remember my grade school celebrations where they told us stories about the pilgrims and Indians and shoe buckles and all sorts of other wonderful nonsense I'm sure was totally false. I get those were probably lies, but I don't want to think about it today. Today, I just want to be grateful. Not for family, friends or other cliché things. Well, maybe those too, but I wouldn't tell a bunch of strangers about them. What I want to tell you guys about is a thing I'm reminded of at the strangest of times: The universe is crazy.
Now, I know, I sometimes say the world is insane. I even have it as part of my tagline. That's true, but today I'm not talking about the world. We humans may be crazy, if I may be so bold as to group myself in with you lot, and the societies we create may be barely disguised madhouses, but that's just living beings and social interactions. There's more to this universe than that, and while I won't try to convince you there is a cosmic entity influencing the fundamental physical interactions that make up our existence... I will say if there is one, it must have a sense of humor.
Because seriously, this universe is crazy. And I love it. Randomly having things like this happen is just awesome:
