Nice round number, perhaps I should stop here. ;)

I've seen the graph. As soon as Sarah gets within throwing distance, you rattle off a few hundred ratings to maintain that healthy buffer :-)

Well, actually, yesterday I did a good day's effort (100+ ratings) and later I had some time, did some more and then realised that I'm not that far from 3k. So I ended up doing another 100+ ratings in the same day.

Yeah, what's another 100 ratings, what the hey?!

Dana, your cyborg title is in doubt...

By the way, I think Sarah might still have the lead in most ratings during a day.

If I ever beat Ari in a one day record it must have been during our week of 2 snow storms. Now it's full blown summer (we skipped spring), the snow is almost gone, the garden calls, (as does my real job). So I expect I'll only fall further behind the master.

But this process has certainly sucked me in; I find it as adictive as some find gaming. And I really want to stamp out those big red numbers!

They have gotten out of control, now >400. Ouch. The crowd sourcing is running out of steam as we get close to the finish line (like Ian Thorpe in the recent Olympic trials - sorry, only Aussies will appreciate that).

Has anyone noticed the numbers get a little bigger when it goes red, a subtle little touch :-)

I'm sorry. I got a new iPad this afternoon. And I was struggling with writing a blog post this morning. Normal service will resume tomorrow. Luckily for TCP we have been having really crappy weather lately and the forecast is for more of the same. In the unlikely event that the rain stops and the sun comes out, you guys will be on your own.

Looks like many of us took a breather yesterday. I only did 30.

Tried to do a batch yesterday but now >500. Will do as many as I can today - not far to go now, just one last gasp effort.

Uh oh, Andy has the iPad 3. So is the retina display all its cracked up to be, Andy? Pity the iPad's safari doesn't do the TCP abstract pop-ups, impossible to rate papers on the iPad.

Everyone's suffering rater fatigue. Turns out 12,272 papers is a helluva lot of papers to rate - no wonder noone has cracked 10,000 papers before (the largest survey I know of was 8000 papers in the Netherlands).

Actually John, I have rated quite a few papers on the iPad. The pop up window sometimes has a strange shape, being either very wide or very narrow, but it's quite possible to do. Btw, The retina display is very nice on the new iPad and it's good to have a camera and not to have safari crashing on every other website. It's faster, too. It's probably not worth the cost of upgrading, though, as long as you are happy with the old model.
2012-03-22 22:30:44What?!?! I find this out now?!

Damn, I only find out now that I could've been rating all this time on the iPad? So much lost opportunity! I just did a half hour exercise on the cross trainer and knocked off 30 ratings while I exercised. I could have spent the last month of exercise racking up 1000 ratings!

I also have had rather pleasant moments with rating; in the other day I practiced my guitar playing and rated papers at the same time. :)

I had a very 'down' day yesterday and couldn't focus.  I came back after some 12 hours or so and managed to catch up some.

Ari: stop showing off.

btw, were you riding your unicycle at the same time?  ;-)

Man, I can't do that.  I need to be in a quiet room so I can focus on the abstracts.

3-4 more days to go.  My wife's working on Saturday, so I should be able to knock a fair amount out that day, though I also have to do this Monckton in Sacramento blog post.  But we're on pace to finish over the weekend.

Scott Mandia tells the story of John Abraham on the exercise machine writing a paper while working out. Guy's a freak.
