The problem with the email harvesting effort was when I put up the schedule, we were already way behind and there was no motivation to keep up with it. Plus email harvesting got harder and harder as time went on.

That won't be the case with paper rating. If anything, it gets easier as you get more experienced at it. And we just went ahead of schedule now over the last few minutes. Hopefully seeing the number hovering around 0 or even pulling ahead of schedule will be a motivation from a team point of view, while the leaderboard will be a motivation from the individual point of view, and we can motor through this paper rating effort. There's nothing like working hard to get the numbers down and seeing other SkSers numbers climbing at the same time, knowing there's others working with you at the same time.

Okay, I have a confession to make - the rating is going so fast that each day for the last week, I've been nudging the deadline up a day or two. The initial deadline was April 19 - two months after starting. But we're rolling along so nicely, we are now on track to finish on March 31. Which is fantastic as it gives us more time to do quality control, crowd source removing duplicates, email the scientists, analysis, finesse the final manuscript and find the best journal to submit to. And if it gets rejected, gives us more time to get it resubmitted before the AR5 deadline.

From what I have seen, we have been ahead of schedule almost the whole time. Now there's smallest number I've seen in long time, only 40 ahead. It has been over 300 ahead at best times. Perhaps there's a diurnal cycle I'm not aware of.

After looking at the dead straight line that is your rating progress, I now think of you as Dana "the metronome" Nuccitelli.

In fact, all but confirms that you actually are a cyborg :-)
