I am working on an intermediate rebuttal that has some calculations that make the post overly long. However I don't want to drop them completely since this is informative for some readers and might higlight how the science produces its results, not just simply stating them without support.

In various posts an rebuttals I have seen Notes after the comments, further reading tabs, various goodies. For example this rebuttal has a notes section.

Q. How do we add these sorts of features in? The Author Admin blog editor has a pane for Notes - what does this do? The Rebuttal Editor doesn't have this. Similarly with other cool things like tabs etc. Is this something that requires one to get down into the HTML to implement (Shriek, Gag, Wail....) or is there an interface available for adding these things?

Maybe the things I am hoping for here (see previous comment) don't exst. Maybe they do. Does anyone know. I have one rebuttal held up waiting for an answer and three more I want to proceed with.

An important thing to note is the Notes section is only visible to authors. This currently is only for the 'Arguments' database so is not unique to each rebuttal - it displays at the bottom of the argument regardless of which level rebuttal is being displayed. The field wasn't meant to be Notes for the public but just a box where I could throw stuff if I wanted it handy but not in the main rebuttal. Eg - if I deleted a paragraph but being a hoarder, not willing to lose the content altogether.

However, I am willing to change this and do some reprogramming if people wish it. So what I could do is a add a new field 'Notes' to the rebuttal database so different level rebuttals can have their own Notes section - and it's displayed publicly. Is this what you're after?

It might be useful, like a place to gather references and relevant 'further reading' links, rather than cluttering up the body of the post.

Glenn also asked how to create tabs, This feature is already built into the system. Like Glenn, i haven't a clue about how to add a tab to an article.
