Hah I just contacted McLean to get a comment.  He's still in massive denial:

I think I said that I would comment on it when we had all the data for the year.  As far as I am aware UAH haven't yet released the data for November and December.

When that data becomes available and I get around to writing a note about it, I think you might be surprised, but until then all you/we can do is wait.

You've got to love this guy.  First off he's talking UAH data when his comparison was to 1956 (obviously no UAH data going back nearly that far).  Secondly he's talking about how we might be surprised when eleven twelfths of the data are already in.

The only way I would be surprised is if McLean admitted what a complete moron he is!

I sent him a nice polite response just asking where I could look for his comment on the issue once he writes one.  Didn't hear anything back yet.  I suspect he may try to wriggle out of it and hope people just forget about his prediction.
