When I do a topic search on SkS, I can get between 25-50 postings which to varying degrees deal with the topic.  This poses two difficulties:  (1) it is not possible to tell which posting is the most relevant – and it is often difficult/impossible to tell from the title:  (2) there is no way of telling which are the most recent postings and therefore likely to be the most up-to-date.

Rather than wade through everything that is dished-up, doubtless all good stuff, would it be possible for a sort to list articles by date of posting/date last revised whichever is the most recent?

That could reduce the amount of reading to the half dozen most recent postings – though it would not necessarily improve relevance without upgrade of the sort function.

Does anyone else think this would be a useful enhancement?

I would definitely agree - a date field, a date sort, or even just date info, would be quite helpful

Yup, the accessibility of information in old posts remains one of our weaknesses.

Yeah, I like the idea of sorting by date (or at least listing the date published).
