Is there a way to undelete a comment.  Rob P deleted this one which was little more than a reference to a WUWT post.  I understand the deletion, but I wanted to respond to it.

Sorry, but it was a breach of the comments policy. Why don't you just respond to it anyway? Just point out it was deleted for a being a link only.

Okay, I suppose I could just leave my own comment on the subject.

Heh, well my issue with it is that the analysis is just piss poor.

dana, while there is probably an easier way to undelete a comment, here's the process I follow:

  1. Copy the comment in question, either from the Deleted Comments bin or by pulling up their comment listing
  2. Go back to the thread in question & post the comment yourself (if there are hyperlinks or html hash codes, you'll have to recreate those yourself)
  3. Open up the comment you just made via the Admin Edit function
  4. Click on the drop-down arrow next to User and change it to the person who originally made the comment
  5. Change the time stamp on the comment to match that of the original

That should be it, unless I forgot something
