I can't help it but I just love that movie. Some of the quotes with the Gerald Butler delivery: "give them nothing... But take from them everything"
Hmm, that's how we should approach SkS and how we deal with deniers :-)

King Leonidas:"Give them nothing, but take from them everything!"
I love the way Leonidas takes what Xerxes gives him and uses it as a focal point of his pointed replies. In a way, I try to model this in responses to fake-skeptics at SkS, but in a more appropriate way.

Xerxes: "Our aerosols will blot out the sun." King Leonidas: "Then we will study climate science in the shade."

BTW, got an email from Camburn complaining about not being able to login. Will email a reply letting him know his account was banned due to multiple violations of the comments policy. Spaherica, LOL re aerosols. In a sense, the Persian hordes are a lot like the hordes from WUWT or Climate Depot when Anthony Watts or Mark Morano sicks them on an adversary. I don't think any SkSers have abs like the Greeks though :-)

"I don't think any SkSers have abs like the Greeks though :-)" Twenty+ years ago, when I was more interested in skirts and sports than my profession... ...now I more resemble the Spartan deformed at birth...

"I don't think any SkSers have abs like the Greeks though :-)" We have science-abs, though! Brain-abs! My gray-matter is like a washboard. Feel it! *removes skull cap, sticks out his gyri to let you feel how hard they are*

Sphaerica - I don't know if I would be advertising a hardening brain... (snerk) I'd rather boast about my ability to do mental push-ups! |
