FORT COLLINS -- Considered the "dean" of global warming skeptics, Fred Singer is coming to Colorado. The emeritus professor at the University of Virginia will speak about "what he calls chaotic uncertainties and how to overcome them." His talk will focus upon the disparity between climate models and observations.

The event will take place at Colorado State University in Fort Collins on Monday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Glover Building, Room 130. The building is just east of the Lory Student Center and south of the Engineering Building. Recommended parking is on the south end of the Lory Student Center next to the Morgan Library.

Singer has said, “the central issue is the cause of global warming: Is it natural or is it manmade? While the IPCC claims to be 90 to 99 percent sure that the warming of the late 20th century is anthropogenic, they have no solid evidence to back up this claim. To the contrary, their own data argue the opposite.”

His biography, according to The Independent Institute:

"Singer is Research Fellow at The Independent Institute, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia, President of the Science and Environmental Policy Project, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a Member of the International Academy of Astronautics. He received his Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University. Singer is the author or editor of fourteen books on climate science, energy, and environmental issues as well as the author of more than 400 articles in scientific and public policy journals and more than 200 articles in popular publications. He has been featured in articles in Time, Life, and U. S. News & World Report, and he has been interviewed on Nightline, Today Show, News Hour, Nightwatch, and other national and international television programs."

Probably Bill Gray's influence....in fact, if I were a betting man, I would bet that Gray had some role in making this happen.  Very recently he was fawning over SInger et al. over at WUWT...Gray also has it in for the AMS.
