This op-ed is truely disgusting.

The Black Death: Longing For The Good Old Days

James M. Taylor is senior fellow for environment policy at The Heartland Institute and managing editor of Environment & Climate News.

Has Forbes magazine become the publishing world's equivalent of Fox News?

The cold helped to spread the disease?  So we have a lawyer who specializes in environmental issues commenting on vectors of disease.  This guy's as removed from his league as he can get.  Perhaps he should look up the Silk Road and the spread of the Mongol army.

I'm surprised he brought up the malaria comparison.  From what I've heard malaria was only banned in certain countries, and was not banned as a tool to fight malaria.  Can someone else comment on that?

That's the same guy (right-wing think tank lawyer) Fox News interviewed about sea level rise measurements.  So I guess the answer to your question is 'yes'.

DDT has never been banned internationally for vector control.  That's a zombie myth which never seems to die.

Taylor most likely wrote the op-ed as a stealth assault on "Climate Change May Worsen Plague" by Katharine Gammon, LiveScience Contributor, June 14, 2011

Gammon's article then became the basis for Plague Could Worsen With Climate Change -- Huffington Post
