Stanford Climate Scientists Forecast Hotter Years Ahead is an excellent article by Joshua Hill posted today on Planetsave. Hill interviewed the study’s lead author, Noah Diffenbaugh, and has some excellent quotes from him. [Note: Diffenbaugh's study is also discussed in Climate Scientists Forecast Permanently Hotter Summers.]

Hill's article would make an excellent cross-post post on SkS.

I think this is a good discussion article on probable climate change - it should be presented as a probable climate outcome - and up to discussion. It will probably lead to a lot of discussion, and we should encourage discussion. More engagement is good.

A cross post would be great.

Looking forward to the final article (report), and if SkS could have a cross post of preliminery findings it would be great - the sooner the better.

I'll be happy to ask for a cross post if no one objects.

In case you are not aware, Joshua Hill lives in Melbourne.

I'm also planning to do a "Spotlight" piece on Planetsave in the upcoming edition of the Weekly Digest. They constantly plug and reference SkS, and it's time we reciprocate.

I contacted Stanford (Woods institute for the environment) to get the e-mail adress for Donna Hesterman who is the source for the article - didn't find it on their web site - waiting for a reply.

(would be nice to have the article online under an ongoing heatwave in US)

Quick reply from Woods:

Hi Preben,

Donna Hesterman’s student internship at Stanford ended last week. You are welcome to post the Woods Institute version of her article on your website, if that’s your request:

Cheers,

Mark
