An extensive database of individuals involved in the global warming denial industry.

DeSmogBlog thoroughly investigates the academic and industry backgrounds of those involved in the PR spin campaigns that are confusing the public and stalling action on global warming. If there's anyone or any organization, ( i.e. scientist, self-professed "expert," think tank, industry association, company) that you would like to see researched and reported on DeSmogBlog, please contact us here.

I do not know how up-to-date DeSmog's list is, but the profiles of each individual are detailed and well researched.  Perhaps Sks should partner with DeSmog Blog on this effort?

I also believe it would be mutually beneficial for SkS and DeSmog blog to partner on cross-posts of articles.

As you may be aware, I am a strong proponent of networking.

I personally also use sourcewatch.org for an information about the backgrounds of many of the "skeptics", good source too, as well as DeSmogBlog.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I had intended to do a follow-up post about SourceWatch and the benefits of developing a SkS -SourceWatch partnership as well. For example, the SourceWatch profile of William Harper could be updated to insclude a link to the recent SkS blog post about him. Ditto for the Monckton, Lindzen, etc., series.

Earlier today, I used their "Contact Us" system to ask them to add SkS to their list of recommended websites. I'll let you know if I get a response. If I do, we may be able to start a dialogue.

John,

I used to have a contact there, but he has left.  Sorry.

I sent a cold email to one person there, then when I got into a dialogue with a DeSmogBlog member about something else, I brought up the idea. Perhaps what we're doing just doesn't fit with them.

From my perspective, there's mucho overlap between DeSmog Blog's mission and content and SkS's mission and content.

Perhaps you could "break the ice" by offering them a guest post on SkS to plug their book and website in trade for an SkS blog post on DeSmiog about your book and website?

You might also want to sound out Joe Romm about where the people in control of DeSmog Blog are coming from.

If you can "break the ice" with DeSmog blog about partnering, I am willing to take on the grunt work of implementation.
