... is the title of an excellent in-depth article by Paul Rosenberg posted (May 6) on Alternet. Rosenberg addresses the issue in context of the current political discourse on climate change in the US. If you have not already read this article, I strongly encourage you to do so.

In a recent General Chat post on the topic of extreme weather [ http://www.skepticalscience.com/thread.php?t=1568&r=3, ]  some of us discussed the possibility of doing a blog post about a brief report, Extreme Weather, written by Jeff Masters as part of the Instant Expert series created recently commissioned by NewScientist. While the Master's paper is an excellent primer on extreme weather, it does not address the connection between extreme weather and climate change.

If a blog post is to be written about the relationship between extreme weather and climate change, I suggest it summarize the recently released WMO report, Weather Extremes in a Changing Climate: Hindsight on foresight.
