Wow!  It's a whole new crowd of nutty characters over there commenting.  If anyone is tired of playing the straight game and need to let out some steam by no-holds-barred youtube commenting, please head on over.  I find it somewhat cathartic to bang heads with nuts like this from time to time...  :-)

Hungry Beast video.

It always reminds me a bit of Fight Club when I post on Youtube.

Used to be people on YT could pop up with things that I didn't quite understand and had to do further research.  Not any more, thanks to SkS.

"AM0destProposal"

Fun first comment, got to reference a concept explained in the solar evolution blog set from a couple months ago.

So I just finished (tired now, need some sleep) a debate with a user "sbvor."  I think it went pretty well - no friends made, I can sure empathize now with what Rob goes through with them.

Commenting on Youtube will put a thick skin on you real fast!  I found it particularly amusing how sbvor started calling me "Comrade Honeycutt" suggesting I'm some sort of commie greenie.

I particularly like to post on videos like this that are getting lots of views because there are fence-sitters in there somewhere.  I hope by effectively arguing the scientific research I can pull even just a few off the fence and into the camp that reads the science and have them begin to understand what an important issue this is.

Has a nice ring to it ;-) I wonder if I might earn the title baby killer? What I really like now about posting on Youtube is that it's essentially a chat. The rapidfire exchange only helps add layers to the thick skin you mentioned. I'm used to Q&A forums (as I've said a few times before, Yahoo! Answers), where there's time to respond to people and look up information. With my exchange with sbvor, while I got time to go look at his blog and research the papers he cited, there was more pressure on me to respond quickly, lest the focus change or more people respond and hide comments. Luckily that didn't seem to be the case since the video isn't *that* viral, for both my own benefit, and as you said, the benefit of fence sitters who need to see the science. A bit off topic, more related to what we were discussing: there is, I think, a response to the PDO argument, but we don't have a rebuttal to the AMO argument. I wonder why, the arguments seem very similar to me.

Yeah, the AMO thing is sbvor's little pet project it seems.  Man that guy is a fruitcake!

Send him to Tamino's page on the AMO.

Then have him post there telling Tamino he's wrong...

Yes, I'm a stinker.

Extremely interesting, I had no idea that the AMO was detrended NASST.  Great post by Tamino, thank you for linking to it Daniel.

LOL @ that animation oslo, very funny.  And true.

I've been noticing that a lot of sbvor's comments seem to be disappearing, which is a bit disappointing since it subtracts from the context of my responses to him.  I'll delete my responses I suppose if his responses are indeed gone, so it seems like I'm not arguing to the air.

Not like I wasn't, anyways, but still.
