An argument I’ve heard made frequently in Australia is that climate scientists and activists used to claim the decade-long drought in many parts of Australia would never end, and then contradicted themselves by blaming AGW for the floods of 2010-2011. In this clip from The Bolt Report, Andrew Bolt points to a few poorly-worded quotes by Tim Flannery and others to back up this narrative. I think we need to counter this by explaining the true connections between global temperature and precipitation, but I’m not sure I know enough to write about it myself.
