That's a real worry - the limited extent of CO2 fertilization. The carbon cycle models rely heavily on massive fertilization this century, but it doesn't seem to be happening. The terrestrial draw down of CO2 seems to be going to young trees in re-growing forests in the former Soviet Union, China and (surprisingly) the tropics.
