The blog for funding graphic is still missing so creating new thread because we said in post.

If any of the numbers are found to be in error, we will revise this graphic accordingly.

DeSmog have crossed out Koch Brothers 200K funding because of a statement from Koch Foundation. Better do the same or will be getting a letter from the Brothers Grimm as well. Or do we just put a * and note to DeSmog link?

I wonder? Peter Gleick may have taken one for the team, but I wonder how much damage he might have done to HI's programs and budget. Kamikazi maybe, but maybe it worked. Look for funding and activism to move to another unthink tank

Hi Dana-

Another update to the graphic:

I know David Watkins (Michigan Tech University) personally. He is listed as receiving $1500. He is appalled to be associated with this affair. He has published extensively on the impacts of anthropogenic climate change on water resources (http://www.cee.mtu.edu/%7Edwatkins/pubs.htm).

He states categorically that he has never been contacted by Heartland, has never accepted money from them, and does not support their agenda.

Here's a note from Dave today when I asked if he wanted to :

Sarah,

Maybe something like this: "David Watkins has had no relationship with the Heartland Institute.  He has not accepted (nor has he been offered) any funds from them.  He is not a supporter of the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change, and in fact he routinely uses results from reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in his research on water resources adaptation planning for climate change."

Thanks,
Dave

Strange, thanks Sarah.  I was going to say maybe it's another David Watkins, but the document does say Michigan Tech.

jg, if you can delete Watkins from the graphic, I'll update it and add a note to the post.

Thanks. He will appreciate it!

He thinks they must mean someone else, too. But, there's only one Dave Watkins here. Perhaps someone was told to fill in the address space on the sheet and just plugged in the affilition of the first one they could google.

Greenpeace sent a letter to the university about this and Dave has been contacted by the Chronical for Higher Ed. He's pretty unhappy about being dragged into this.
