Ari,

We have a much better chance of getting your weekly posts picked-up by Google if the title included the phrase "Climate Change".

How about:

Climate Change Science: New research from last week 4/2012

Like we have previously discussed, I'm not very keen on changing the series title without a good reason, as it has been ongoing for year and a half already.

That title would also be misleading, because these are not just climate change related papers but also general climate science papers are included and perhaps even some papers from other fields (some other environmental issues, such as air pollution, for example).

I understand the need to fool Google, but I disagree with it. I think a Google search should return relevant pages first. It's annoying when you are trying to search information on some issue and you keep getting search results from some irrelevant pages that have been succesful in fooling Google's search algorithms. If a person seeks basic information on climate change, then I think they should get pages containing basic descriptions of climate change, not random collections of research abstracts. I realize that everyone tries to elevate their visitor count like this but I don't want to do that. I want people finding my pages be glad they found it, not annoyed because they just found another page not containing information they were looking for.

I added one paper. This week seems to be more quiet than last weeks.

Ari,

To date, you have only posted three weekly summaries on SkS. I see no compelling reason that the titles of what you post on your site and what you post on SkS must be exactly the same.

The fact that not each and every paper that you include in your summary is not directly related to "Climate Change Science" will not be a big deal.

The Google feature that I am talking about is the daily Google Alerts for Climate Change articles, post,. etc. I believe it is important for us to do what we can to make it more likely for Google alerts to pick-up as many SkS articles as is possible.

So when the deniers try their "look squirrel!" routine, there might actually be something to look at.

Nice biological and radiocarbon focus for contrast. I was missing my weekly fix this morning!

I just realized that I forgot to add the classic of the week. Well, perhaps I'll remember it next week.
