I added another one. This one is going to be big news in next few days. It's from Nature Geoscience and it says that the missing energy has not been missing after all. I just don't know why they released it in their RSS feed already, it is dated to January 22.

Three new papers this morning. Another set-back for cosmic ray hypothesis and some cool permafrost science.

Prediction for 2012. The 'Missing Energy'/'Why hasn't warmed for a decade' memes is going to be resolved. Heat has been going to the middle depths of the ocean over the last decade, reducing surface ocean warming and thus atmospheric warming. Is late 2012 too late to make the cut for AR5?

This morning there weren't especially interesting papers, but somehow I still ended up adding four new ones.

Some awesome papers there Ari. I've got dibs on writing about Loeb (2012). In your face deniers!

Yes that one should be fun to put together, Rob! Another talking-point falls by the wayside - all they will have left in due course will be Leprechauns!

Cheers - John

Not another there's no link between GCRs and clouds paper!  How will Calder (the Pat Michaels of the GCR crowd) spin this one?

I added couple of papers and classic of the week. I won't add anything else, so this is ready to go except that the Nature article on missing mass has not been published yet. It is no longer in the RSS fedd of Nature Geoscience. They probably had some kind of error in their feed earlier so that it showed papers too soon. The paper in question should be published today so I will have to keep an eye on it and insert proper link to the post once the paper has been published.

That's good, I wasn't quite sure about it myself, but I thought that I will be doing many of these introductions so might as well try that one at least once.

Above I mention Nature article on missing mass, but of course I meant energy. I think I drifted to the world of cosmology where there's a missing mass problem which they call dark matter.
