Opening line typo: The University is in Zurich with a zee, zed to us colonials.

This is not really "based on" the press release, it is the entire press release, as far as I can tell. This is interesting stuff and it's worth bringing to the readers' attention. But I think as a stand-alone article, we need to have a little SkS value-added commentary about why it's important, or wrong, or whatever.

On the other hand, links like this might be worth posting with the weekly digest in a "worth reading" list.
