I have created a draft blog post for the inagural edition.

Its filename is: SkS-Weekly-Digest_06-4-11

I do not know how to insert a direct link to it here. Please advise.

I envisioned the SKS Weekly Digest to be a email announcement, rather than a blog post.  I created this inagural edition as a draft blog post because i didn't know where else to create it.

It may be beneficial to do the inagural edition as a blog post in order to get feedback on the merits and content of a weekly bulletin.

First suggestion - write up a bit of an intro to ask for feedback from readers.  Do they want it as an email or as a blog post in the future?

I'd also add some more of the Amazon Drought Part 3 intro.

Weren't you doing to include upcoming blog posts too?  I just started putting together the schedule for next week.  I wouldn't include the dates because they're subject to change, but you could list the upcoming titles.

The Amazon Drought (Part2) has the intro for part 1. Looks good. Didn't realize we got through so many posts in a week.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have added an introductory paragraph per Dana's suggestion.

I have also added Glenn Tamblyn's post of today.

I also added a "What's in the SkS pipeline header at the bottom of the article.

It’s good to go from my perspective.

PS -- If SkS authors are going to be generating 2-3 articles per day on a regular basis, a daily digest might be preferraable to many in the SkS audience over the current system --something to mull over.

We never do more than 2 per day.  We were doing 3 for a while, but got complaints from some readers that it was too many, and I rather agree.  I think one is ideal, but when we've got a lot in the pipeline, two is okay.  So we shouldn't need a daily digest.

I think it looks really good, but Amazon Drought Part 3 still needs a bit of introduction text.  And in your new first paragraph, I'd still tell the readers exactly what kind of feedback you're looking for (i.e. do you want this as a weekly blog post, or do you want to be able to sign up for a weekly email?).  Unless you're planning on keeping it as a blog post every week.

I'll plan on posting this tomorrow, since it's the start of the week in the USA.

You are a hard taskmaster. I've made the changes you requested.

Looks good to me, though I added "First Edition" to the title.  If we keep doing these as blog posts, we'll need some identifier in the title so they're not all the same (i.e. 2nd week of June or something like that).
