Great Barrier Ree (GBR). = Great Barrier Reef

anthropogenic warming fingerprints = the 'a' is outside the linked blue lettering

uncertaintis = uncertainties

Virtually error free IPCC AR4?. Man, that'll attract the skeptics.

Looks good.

Thanks Rob.  Haha yeah, i had the same thought on the IPCC comment.  But really it's true - thousands of pages and all they had was the minor Himalaya glacier mistake and a misattribution on the Amazon reference.  That's pretty damn impressive really.

"That's pretty damn impressive really.". Absolutely

There's the risk that skeptics will focus on this point but this is what is written in the report. We'll try to avoid to have the comments hijacked.

Yeah we'll just have to monitor the comments.  No big deal.

My biggest problem with this report is the unfortunate use of light purple font -- too damn difficult to read especially when used in Figure descriptions.

Thanks.  Hehe yeah, the light purple is a bit tough on the eyes.

“"An analysis of the transition of the Earth from the last ice age to the Holocene, which infers climate sensitivity from the observed change in temperature and the corresponding changes in the factors that influence radiative forcing, also estimates a value of about 3°C (Hansen et al. 2008).”

I notice there’s no mention of Hansen’s more important conclusion – that slow feedbacks greatly amplify the 3°C from fast feedbacks. That particular point always seems to be forgotten.

I thought the same thing about the purple theme – many of the figures were easier to read in their original form.

Dana, your post looks good.

Good point James.  I'll probably add the note about the higher long-term sensitivity in the text.

Looks good!

This sentence need to be tweaked:

The average air temperature at the Earth’s surface continues on an upward trajectory at a rate of 0.17°C per decade over the past three decades.

It's the continues...over the past three decades that jars.

On uncertainty (which word appears 46 times in the report, so much for "alarmists" underplaying it) you may want to highlight this comment in your closing remarks:

This daunting uncertainty not only challenges attemptsat adaptation, but also enhances, not diminishes, the imperative for rapid and vigorous global mitigation ofgreenhouse gas emissions.

which, I think, is a good way of turning the tables on those who claim that we need more certainty before taking action. A similar point was made in the Economist some time ago and also by many others. (Implicitly but unknowingly downplaying uncertainty is the Achilles heel of the lukewarmers, I think.)

Well I can't edit that sentence because it's a direct quote, but good idea about adding that uncertainty quote, Andy.

Maybe you couldn't edit that sentence, Dana but Yasmin Said wouldn't have hesitated. ;-!
