Here's my news article on recent Erlykin et al. paper on cosmic ray effects.

"and currently it seems that the possible effect of cosmic rays to on the climate is small."

"A new study by Erlykin et al." <= might be good to hyperlink the abstract here

"Earlier research is being discussed and some new analysis is performed." => The paper discusses previous cosmic ray research, and performs some new analysis.

It would be helpful to explain what a Forbrush event is.  And it would also be good to link to our cosmic ray rebuttal somewhere in the post.

"The strongest effect seems to lie in the stratosphere,"

"The strongest effect seems to occur in the poles"

"On the other hand, also direct linking these cloud changes to solar activity effect is also problematic,"

"It seems that cosmic rays have an effect to on stratospheric aerosols, ozone..."

"There are also some evidence of possible effect on stratospheric clouds during Forbush decreases and other cosmic ray flux changes, but the size of the possible effect is unclear."

I talked for a bit with Arnold Wolfendale about this a year or so ago. I got some good quotes from him and he's done a lot of papers with Sloan and Erlykin.

If you don't mind holding off a few days I'd like to write up an article on one of his older papers combined with what he said to me and perhaps we could make sure the 2 don't overlap too much and release them 1 after the other?

I don't mind holding off. I'm thinking of publishing this in my own blog too, and there I think I'll put this public next wednesday or thursday. The overlapping bit is not that important, because this is a news article on the new study so it doesn't matter much if it repeats some issues. News are rarely all new in science. ;)

Actually, scratch that. Just had a family emergency and I don't know if I'll have time to write up my blog post... do what you want!

Post here whenever you're ready to publish Ari.  We don't have anything on the immediate schedule, so if you're ready, you can be next up.

Dana, I just published the Methane release/Kraken post.  It was my understanding that it was OK to do that.
