I put together a blog post of my general impressions from the climate hearing, centered mainly around the fact that it was treated more like a court case than a learning experience for the congressmen involved.  I was thinking this could be a follow-up post after John's initial post with all the climate hearing quotes, before we launch into all the rebuttals of Christy and Montgomery.  I'll add some links to John's post and to the individual witnesses' quotes pages once those are up.  Let me know what you think.

Quick question: "From what I understand, numerous economists provided the Democratic congressmen with information to refute Dr. Montgomery's claims" - where did you hear this? I know of scientists advising the Democratic staffers but not sure if I heard about economists involved.

On the live blog, I mentioned that I wished somebody would respond to Montgomery, and someone (don't recall the name) who claimed to be an economist said he and others had provided this info to congressional staffers, but they weren't using it.

I tried to hedge my bets on that, since it was just hearsay, by saying "from what I understand".  Even if they hadn't gotten that info from economists, the congressmen should have been aware of all the economic studies of Waxman-Markey by the CBO, EPA, etc., since the House passed the bill in '09, and those economic reports were a major selling point.
