I let Dana know by email that I'd be posting Monckton Myth #9 Tuesday morning (I'm talking Aussie time through this post). But I forgot that I also promised to post about the Arctic sea ice post on Monday night. So upcoming posts are:

Monday night: Articgate

Tuesday morning: Monckton Myth #9

Tuesday afternoon: The Climate Show #6 (forgot to post it on the weekend)

Wed morning:  Andy's David Archer book review

And by then, I'm sure there'll be a few other blog posts in the queue ready to go, including the next couple of Monckton Myths.

I'm liking the idea of mapping out the trajectory of the week's posts and might make this a weekly thing. It lets all the authors know the general gist of where we're headed in the short-term, hopefully keeps things more organised and content trotting along at a steady trot rather than the haphazard lurching I usually do.

So if you've written a blog post/rebuttal that is waiting to be published, mention it here and I'll add it into the rotation. Perhaps a weekly 'this week's posts' thread can be our way of organising things and reacting to events as they happen.

That said, it also demonstrates how things have changed - already this morning I wake up to one guest post already published and two guest posts in my in-box which I would prefer to post today, bumping everything else along:

Monday

Articgate: perpetuating the myth that Arctic sea ice has recovered

Yes, it's helpful for me at least to see what's coming along the pipeline, even if subject to change. I'd like to add MM #10 to the list, maybe a day or two after #9.

Added the two extra posts and also moved MM9 to tonight - am keen to get it out of the way so we can get to the later MMs sooner. Plus I enjoy posting juicy posts like that in the evening and waking up to see what has hit the fan while I slept :-)

I've been working on a review piece of Dai et al 2010; should have something for others to chew on in a day or 2.  Tracking for publishing either this weekend or early next week; your call.

This under-employment thing has been a boon for working on the old backlog of to-do's.

As far as I can tell, the post about the climate-quiz can be published whenever it fits in. The only caveat is, that - due to my upcoming vacation - I won't be around to react to comments come Sunday, February 13.

Baerbel, thanks for the reminder. This thread is great for reminding me of stuff waiting in the wings. Is your climate quiz post ready to go? I've pencilled it in for Wed morning.

Daniel, look forward to your review.

John, I decided yesterday to take out the question re. the 10 hottest years and put in a new question about the (in)complete carbon cycle (see: http://www.skepticalscience.com/thread.php?t=820&r=12) . All the suggestions I received up until now have been incorporated and the only thing I could still do is to also upload the ppt-version of the quiz and reference that in the blog-post. Just let me know.

Cheers

Baerbel, up to you whether to include the PPT. I'd say yes, the more options and resources, the merrier :-)
2011-02-09 14:58:29Whoops, forgot the RTR podcast post
John Cook

john@skepticalscience...
123.211.149.21

Had the RTR podcast in the holster for a few weeks, just posted it Wed lunchtime which is when it airs on RTR radio.

So this week is filling out - I wonder whether more than 2 posts per day is too much, doesn't give people a chance to discuss for long enough. On the other hand, other blogs posts half a dozen posts or more per day.

I won't be here to answer comments in the next two days, so perhaps "Ice isn't melting" could be moved to the weekend?

Also bumped Kelly's guest post to Thurs morning. Am going to probably keep it to 2 posts per day apart from minor posts like Guide translations which don't count. More than 2 per day just seems too busy for now.

Steve Lewandowsky just sprung a 'blog review' post which I quickly threw online so that's it for today - I'd like to give this some time in the sun so Steve can get plenty of comments. Next will be Dana's MM10 early Friday morning (Australia time) - look forward to waking up to the website embroiled in Monckton flame wars :-)

I've got a couple small edits to make to MM #11, then put it up for review and feedback this weekend.  So maybe we can put that on the list sometime early-mid next week, because I know MM #12 is ready to go already.

I also almost forgot, I started to put something together for the rebuttal to "IPCC disappeared the MWP".  I think I was almost finished with that, so I'll get it done this weekend too and up for review.  No hurry doing the blog post for that one - mainly just mentioning it to remind myself to finish it up this weekend.

I'll put MM #10 up in the morning. so Steve's post will have had about 12 hours in the sun.

By the way John, if you want to make it a regular thing, I can continue posting whichever blog post is due up next in my morning time.  That way we can keep maximizing the time between blog posts.  This thread will make it relatively easy to do.

I just took down Steve's post on smoking. Great stuff in the comments. I love how Steve can provoke such strong, interesting comments threads. I once told him he must've been the type of child that loved poking ants nests with a stick, which he took as a great compliment :-)

I think it's me that's getting herded around, with the ebbs and flows that come about each day - unexpected guest posts, new developments, etc. But at least I'm getting more if an overview of the madness via this thread.

I was going to do a follow-up blog post about Peter Gleick's cherry pick graph (it's just that good) but now that Schmitt has withdrawn, it would just be flogging a dead horse. So I've removed that post from the schedule.

John, not sure if you saw my emails with the corrections for the German version of the Scientific Guide? There aren't that many changes necessary, but I'll be without regular computer-access come Sunday due to my vacation. If you then need somebody to proofread the updated version, could you please also send it to Oliver Marchand and Michael Theusner? Thanks!
