This is of course a fail, since the amounts of anthropogenic CO2 vs. algal mass aren't quite similar. Though there's the Azolla event that happened in the Arctic once, it would take quite long to draw the organic carbon back to the Deepwater Horizon layers or similar. Though it is possible to boost some extra growth in the algae considered on the article, they're not regularly considered a food source, and some are toxic as in Red Tide. But a nice try and an article possibly giving (false) hope to some.
