Just keeping authors posted on SkS traffic trends - Feb 2011 hit a record high which is not bad considering it only includes 28 days. The monotonic increase is why I'm a little skeptical of the noisy signal of the Alexa traffic graph (nevertheless I am looking forward to cracking the #100,000 threshhold)

Do you mean million threshold?. Great work, by the way.

Enquiring minds see a correlation between the monotonic rise in SkS popularity and the monotonic rise in global CO2 levels.

Correlation, or causation?  You decide...

No, I mean the Alexa ranking of 100,000 - currently there are around 105,000 websites that get higher traffic than SkS. I know it's a meaningless number and Alexa ranking needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Still, have hovered just above the 100,000 mark for a while so it would be satisfying to crack that 100,000 mark. We did it back when the iPhone app came out. If the natural growth of the website doesn't put us over in the next month or two, I imagine the launch of the Climate Change Denial book will probably do it.

Good to see that traffic creeping steadily upward.

How much of that is just an annual cycle?

I haven't noticed an annual cycle. If you look at the longer stats graph, you'll see there's been a steady increase over the last 4 years, apart from a single spike in early 2010 when the iPhone app came out:

John,

That's all very impressive, but have you taken into account that it could just be a natural rebound from the Medieval Internet Quiet Period (MIQP)?

"I haven't noticed an annual cycle."

I guess that means that you have a genuinely global audience. :)
